Event organisation through DigiTales

The DigiTales team can support organisations wishing to organise specialist events, such as conferences, seminars or workshops.   Our work across a range of organisations means, we have extensive experience in the development and delivery of events in the UK and abroad, including facilitation of activity.   Examples of events we’ve organised and facilitated include:-

2017 – Untold.  The biennial gathering on Digital Storytelling was hosted at the University of East London and attracted 120 people to a wide-ranging programme across four days structured as an unconference with supporting workshops and seminars

2017 – WISH Researcher Development Workshop, Cape Peninsula University of Technology,  a four-day researcher development workshop exploring questions around decolonialisation and internationalisation of Higher Education

2015 – Fourth International Visual Methods Conference.  This major international event was hosted at the University of Brighton and attracted some 250 academics and practitioners to the city.

2015 – Silver Stories Conference in Leiria.  An international open conference hosted by Leiria Polytechnic in central Portugal.  It provided a means to celebrate achievements during the Silver Stories research project but opened this out to external debate through an open call for papers.  Over 100 attendees.

2012 – Extending Creative Practice Conference in Maribor, Slovenia.  A one day conference for participants in the research project hosted in Maribor as part of the European Capital of Culture celebrations

2010 – Beating the Odds, a one day workshop exploring issues around access to Higher Education by BAME communities in the UK, hosted by the Arts Council England, Birmingham

2010 – Community Media Development Workshop, hosted by RMIT, Melbourne.  A one day workshop exploring the use of media research with excluded community groups

2008 – Imagine Your Future Symposium commissioned by the British Council and hosted at Goldsmiths.  Forty people attended over two days to lay the foundations for the two-year programme of work.

2007 – Inclusion Through Media, a final conference held at the BFI South Bank, London which attracted 200 delegates to showcase work made and explore issues raised by the Inclusion Through Media Development Partnership (2004-2008)

2007 – DigiTales Conference hosted at FACT in Liverpool.  An international showcase of digital storytelling work completed from 2005-2007
